Job description
We are seeking a dedicated Finance Manager to built and lead a the finance function of a newly formed start-up. You will be responsible for building the financial processes and reporting financial data to the shareholders (a leading private equity firm).As the Finance Manager you will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic decision-making
- Assist in the development of departmental budgets, analysing variances and recommending corrective actions
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimise financial performance and support operational needs
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to improve efficiency and profitability
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, standards, and reporting requirements, working closely with internal and external auditors
- Assess financial risks and implement appropriate controls and mitigation strategies to protect company assets and interests
- Streamline and improve financial systems, processes, and controls to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, shareholder representatives, department heads, and project managers, providing financial insights and support to drive informed decision-making

- ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualification
- Experience within a SME or start-up business
- Demonstrable experience adding value to financial data
- Experience dealing with senior stakeholders and ideally PE shareholders
- Strong desire to work in a start-up environment

- £75,000 – £80,000 (flexible DOE)
