We specialise in all areas of Environmental analysis, including Contaminated Soil, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Soil Vapour, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Stack Emissions, Work Place Air, Ambient Air, Dust, Drinking Water, Surface Water run off, River & Stream Monitoring, Seawater, and Groundwater.

  • Fixed Term full-time contract for 12 months based in Metro Melbourne.

  • Days of work Monday – Friday.

  • Salary range of $70-80k per annum dependent on candidate skills and experience.

Eurofins Environment Testing is seeking a dedicated Field Technician to join our growing team. As a member of the field team, you will play a key role in conducting landfill gas sampling and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and accuracy in environmental data collection. This role offers ample room for career development in an ever-expanding field team, with opportunities for growth and skill advancement.

Reporting to the Field Services Manager, the Field Technician will be responsible for scheduling and managing onsite visits for landfill gas sampling, operating handheld instrumentation, and ensuring accurate data handling and reporting. The role will work directly with clients to provide updates, manage consumables, and ensure safety and quality standards are met during field operations.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Scheduling & Coordination: Planning and scheduling field visits for landfill gas sampling, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services to clients and compliance with project timelines.

  • Client Communication: Serving as the primary point of contact for clients during field operations, providing regular updates and addressing any on-site issues or concerns.

  • Sampling Operations: Operating handheld instrumentation to collect landfill gas samples, ensuring accurate measurement, proper calibration, and compliance with safety and industry standards.

  • Consumables Management: Tracking and managing sampling equipment and consumables, ensuring adequate inventory for ongoing projects and proper maintenance of equipment.

  • Data Handling & Reporting: Collecting, recording, and analysing field data, ensuring proper documentation and accurate reporting to clients and internal teams.

  • Field Safety: Adhering to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe working environment on-site.

  • Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving any equipment or sampling issues in the field, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring that all sampling processes and equipment meet company standards and regulatory requirements for accuracy and reliability.

  • Career Development: Participating in training programs and development opportunities to enhance your technical skills, leadership abilities, and career progression within our expanding field team.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will need the following:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Strong organizational abilities, including scheduling and inventory management.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic field environment.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to perform field-based physical tasks.
