The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the facility, implementing safety measures, managing maintenance activities, and optimizing resource utilization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial facility management, excellent leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of safety regulations and maintenance practices.How you will do it1. Facility Maintenance:Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other critical systems.Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and coordinate repairs promptly.Oversee maintenance staff or external contractors and ensure the completion of maintenance tasks within budget and schedule.2. Safety and Compliance:Implement and enforce legislative and company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and take appropriate corrective actions.Stay updated with relevant safety regulations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes.3. Asset Management:Manage the facility’s assets, including equipment, machinery, and inventory.Develop and maintain an asset tracking system to monitor asset condition, maintenance history, and replacement schedules.Plan and budget for asset repairs, replacements, and upgrades.4. Space Planning and Utilization:Optimize the use of available space to support efficient operations.Coordinate office reconfigurations, moves, and expansions.Ensure compliance with space regulations and ergonomic standards.5. Vendor Management:Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers.Negotiate contracts, review service agreements, and monitor vendor performance.Coordinate services such as maintenance, security, cleaning, and landscaping.6. Team managementLead and supervise a team of facility personnel, including technicians, custodial staff, and administrative staff.Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a high-performing team.Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.7. Budgeting and Financial Management:Develop and manage the facility’s operating budget.Track expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost control measures.Prepare financial reports and provide regular updates to management.8. Environmental Sustainability:Promote and implement sustainable practices within the facility.Identify energy-saving opportunities, waste management programs, and water conservation measures.Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.9. Emergency Preparedness:Develop and implement emergency response plans.Coordinate with emergency services and conduct regular drills.Maintain emergency equipment and supplies.10. Tenant or Employee Services:Provide support services to facility occupants.Address maintenance requests, coordinate office relocations, manage parking facilities, and ensure a clean and comfortable working environment.11. Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records, documentation, and monthly reports related to facility operations, maintenance activities, safety incidents, and compliance records.What we look forAbility to work on site 5 days a weekMinimum 5 years of experienceIdeally educated to Degree levelPrevious operations experience of facilities management or service delivery (possible specialist areas such as HVAC, M&E, security and cleaning) in industrial environmentsTechnical Background with an understanding of buildings M&E and critical assetsPeople management skills and the ability to communicate at all levelsPC Literate – Microsoft Office suiteCommercial and financial awareness#LI-Onsite#LI-MO1
