Job Summary:

The Powerplant Engineering Strategy Manager individual contributor role is on a high-visibility F135 Sustainment Integrated Fleet Support team that executes forecasting, powerplant engineering, maintenance program management, and shop visit cost management. This role supports these four key team deliverables.

The successful Powerplant Engineering Senior Manager goes where there is no path and forges a path for others to follow, in the form of program shop visit program management.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic maintenance planning for the F135 organization from a technical powerplant engineering perspective
  • Drive digital strategy integration: data product & tool development, including leadership of workscope innovation efforts
  • Drive process & stakeholder integration across F135 enterprise for all key processes
  • Partner with the shop visit cost team to identify cost reduction drivers
  • Contract design strategy support, including strategic F135 Sustainment contract changes and propulsion service provider contracts
  • CORE process maturity advancement, including driving team proficiencies and benchmarking, process standardization and maturity, and development of performance & quality metrics

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Demonstrated skills and proficiency in Powerplant Engineering processes
  • F135, F117 or other P&W Military or Commercial Engines logistics experience
  • CORE Champion or related total quality management system experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Business, Engineering, Aerospace Logistics preferred.
  • Familiar with engine overhaul & repair processes, engine hardware, assembly, operation, and testing

This role is: Remote

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work regularly offsite. There will be periodic visits to the office for group events.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD – 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
