The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a detail-oriented Export Compliance Specialist to provide timely and accurate regulatory support to the UK Export Team, ensuring that VWR part of Avantor acts in compliance with local legislation.

The Export Compliance Specialist will help to mitigate the compliance risk for export business in the UK.

This role will be fully remote, but you must reside in the UK. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, high attention to detail and organisation skills.

The successful Export Compliance Specialist will resolve hazardous goods issues and queries on Export shipments and liaise with the Transport Compliance Team. If you are passionate about export and want to be part of a team that solves the world’s most complex challenges – let’s talk!

The team

The Export Compliance Specialist will be part of a wider Team of 9 export compliance professionals that work closely with local & European authorities.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience: At least 3 years experience in an administrative/customer service role preferably within export/logistics
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organisational and team working skills.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with senior leadership across a variety of functions.
  • Collaboration tool: MS Office programs in particular Excel & Word

How you will thrive and create an impact

Make export licence applications and associated tasks

Contact with Customs authorities concerning:

  • Investigate queries from official authorities
  • Declarations & reporting
  • Export licence applications

Support the screening process of customers and resellers, for export orders and shipments to ensure compliance with all export licence requirements.

Provide Regulatory Export Compliance advice and documents to support the Export Customer Services Team.

Assist with queries from customs agent relating to intercompany shipments to the EU

Provide training to the organisation on compliance topics where needed.

Adhere to Company policies and procedures to meet statutory, quality and business requirements within the overall strategy and objectives of the company.
