Job DescriptionThe Executive Director of Strategic Insights is responsible for leading the development of strategies to address external trends and support product access, affordability and profitability within the evolving US healthcare environment across our company’s portfolio.The Executive Director reports directly to the Vice President, Integrated Account Management (IAM) and is directly responsible for guiding several teams, including the Corporate Account team, Market Access & Engagement team, Director of Portfolio Engagement, and Director of Account Management Strategy. In addition, this role leads Associate Directors responsible for Segment specific Strategy development.Strategic Insights operates as a center of excellence and as such, is a critical partner to the US marketing teams, access and payer marketing as they develop and evolve their US Market Access product strategies. The team works closely with leaders and account teams within IAM, key stakeholders in Global Market Access, Federal and State Policy as well as US Strategy & Commercial Model Innovation.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Customer Segment Strategy: Responsible for the development of above-brand customer strategies & engagement including IDN, GPOs, Specialty Pharmacy, PBMs, Health Plans, Employers, as well as new segments evolving in response to market dynamics. Guides team in the monitoring of trends and landscape assessments to inform IAM and Payer Marketing/OCAR on segment trends, customer point of view, and related implications in planning and strategy.Corporate Accounts: Support account team’s direct customer engagement with key employer stakeholders (e.g., large, self-insured employers, employer coalitions, and employer benefit consultants) to support our company’s business objectives through the use of approved resources in collaborations aligned to key strategic areas: specialty medicines, oncology, and prevention through vaccination. Identify opportunities for cross-collaborations with internal and external stakeholders to inform our company’s understanding of employer needs and perceptions on pharma business model and associated policy implications. Actively involved in guiding messaging and engagement related to Pricing, Access and Affordability approved messaging in order to advance supportive policy and business positions and counter threats to our business model.Market Access & Affordability: Responsible for guiding the team that is developing our company’s digital channel for payer content and engagement in close collaboration with the market access/payer marketing teams, including the development and implementation of our company’s Formulary Resource Portal, one of the US Market’s transformation initiativesPortfolio Engagement: Responsible for advising and navigating complex customers and stakeholders to facilitate effective partnerships with our company to meet needs of marketing teams and ensure smooth interactions and collaborations. Actively support the streamlining of processes for assessing marketing offerings and cataloging of decisions.Enterprise Account Management Capabilities: Deliver a transformative approach to achieve the our company’s Account Management Vision of collaborating with key account customers to improve health outcomes, explore mutual opportunities, and increase profitable sales. Deliverables include developing strategic enablers and establishing Account Management training and infrastructure across the enterprise to support execution of a customer-centric approach for all US Account Management roles including Integrated Account Management, Oncology, and Vaccines.Building Teams & Talent: Responsible for setting high standards, building and managing a high performing team and for creating a positive, inclusive workforce environment. Sets a high compliance standard and ensures team is accountable for acting in compliance with our company’s policy and standards. Allocates proper resources for meeting goals and objectives. Provides career development and motivation for their organization.Communications: Maintains productive communications with IAM leadership, Marketing, Strategy & Commercial Innovation Alliances, Policy, OR, Global Market Access & Pricing, Legal, Compliance & Ethics, Human Resources as needed to ensure understanding of needs, proper prioritization and delivery of customer-oriented projects that support business objectives. Regularly exchanges ideas and information to develop effective plans and strategies to meet business needs.Education:Bachelor’s degree requiredMBA degree preferredRequired Experience and Skills:Minimum of 10 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Marketing, Managed Markets, Sales, Market Access or related functionMinimum of 3 years People Management experienceUnderstanding of the drivers, strategy and business models of key US customers (payer, channel, provider), especially the financial considerations, reimbursement dollar flow and/or data environment relating to medicinesStrong leadership, strategic business acumen, problem-solving, teamwork, analytical, written/verbal communication, and presentation skillsExpertise with collaboration, influencing without authority and working successfully with cross-functional teamsPreferred Experience and Skills:Well-versed in underlying trends in healthcare reimbursement, payment, and coverage in the US, including knowledge of rules and regulations, contract management and execution, contract performance evaluationExperience in account management and contractingAbility to effectively navigate within HQ environment**Applicants local to PA and can travel regularly to Upper Gwynedd are strongly preferred**NOTICE FOR INTERNAL APPLICANTSIn accordance with all employees subject to this policy are required to have a minimum of twelve (12) months of service in current position prior to applying for open positions.If you have been offered a separation benefits package, but have not yet reached your separation date and are offered a position within the salary and geographical parameters as set forth in the Summary Plan Description (SPD) of your separation package, then you are no longer eligible for your separation benefits package.
