We offer competitive salaries, financial support for further training, Continuous Professional Development (CPD) leading to chartered status, performance incentives and the ability to progress your career with a world class engineering contractor.Job DescriptionAn Estimating Manager is needed to join one of Irelands largest and most successful M&E Contractors with a full-time position available in Damastown, Dublin 15 with an option of Hybrid work depending on the suitability of the candidate.The Estimating Manager will join the Estimating Department working on tenders/RFPs.The role will be office-based working alongside, and with, other Estimators, Administrators, reporting to the Group Estimating Manager.Duties include:

  • Review and understand the bid strategy and contribute to developing this with the final goal of returning a comprehensive, complete, accurate & competitive bid, within the time constraints available.
  • Involvement in tendering a variety of large-scale projects in Ireland, UK & across Europe.
  • Participation in the full tender process from beginning to completion managing a Team of Estimators, with support from Group Estimating Manager.
  • Assist in compiling the Technical Submission as detailed, bearing in mind exclusions, clarifications and program of works, plus clients MEAT criteria.
  • Agree estimating approach & strategy with the Group Estimating Manager/Director in areas such as value propositions, methodologies, delivery approaches etc.
  • Manage standalone bids (RFT’S/PQQ’s etc) of varying scales as required from start to finish, which will require excellent managerial skills.
  • Liaise with the Marketing Team on RFT’s / PQQ’s to ensure all available documentation is up to date & accurate.
  • A thought leader in terms of the bid process and bid material and continually looking to evolve estimating approaches & strategies.
  • Scheduling meetings and managing the interaction between numerous individuals within the estimating department.
  • Conduct in-dept reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules etc with estimators.
  • Liaising with relevant parties/supplies/subcontractors.
  • Evaluate, analyse & validate supplier and sub-contractor quotations with assistance from Estimating Team.
  • Issue tender RFIs and review client response with Estimating Team.
  • Prepare tender review & progress reports for evaluation with Group Estimating Manager
  • After the successful bid at project handover, meet with the Construction Team to fully explain the estimate, scope of work, quotes and offer aspects for the successful transition of the project.

Skills and Requirements:

  • 5 years’ + experience in a similar role.
  • Relevant degree qualification.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure with strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills adept at communicating with impact.
  • Excellent record keeping and administrative skills.
  • Solves problems analytically and acts decisively.
  • Experience with MS Suite, especially in the use of Excel & GSheets essential.
