Job description
Excel are partnering with a reputable Main Building Contractor in hiring an ambitious Environmental H&S Officer to be based in Dublin on a permanent basis.Key Responsibilities for Environmental H&S Officer
- Collaborate with senior management to drive a positive health and safety culture across the company.
- Implement and maintain ISO 45001 certification and Safe-T-Cert certification.
- Develop and monitor construction stage plans, including traffic and waste management.
- Regularly review and update risk assessments, method statements, and health and safety policies.
- Ensure Site Managers and Supervisors actively engage in audits and comply with EHS management systems.
- Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor and report on EHS data through our online management system.
- Ensure subcontractors meet safety compliance requirements and review their safety documentation.
- Support Site Supervisors with safety inductions and maintain training records.
- Lead accident and incident investigations to identify preventive actions and ensure lessons are shared across the organization.
- Manage employee training programs and ensure mandatory training is completed on time.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the company-wide Safety Management System.
- Stay updated on health and safety regulations, industry trends, and ensure compliance with legislative changes.
- Maintain strong relationships with directors, managers, project teams, and contractors.
Requirements for Environmental H&S Officer
- Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of H&S experience in construction (Ireland).
- IOSH membership.
- Instructor certifications in Manual Handling, Working at Height, and/or Abrasive Wheels are advantageous but not essential.
