We have an exciting remote opportunity for an Enterprise Platform System – SAP BASIS Lead!
This IT position is responsible for managing the SAP landscapes with regard to technical build and administration at Pratt & Whitney. Ensuring compliance with RTX policy and SAP best practice for technical configuration and patching is key. The position will assist with overseeing a team of SAP BASIS admins focused on system builds, refreshes, patching, audit support, policy compliance, and system performance per established business policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- SAP (ABAP, HANA, JAVA) operations, system builds, patching, compliance, and oversight.
- Deploy tools and processes to ensure role compliance and user assignment in a timely fashion
- Support audit requests
- Manage SAP BASIS administrators and support HR processes, budget oversight, hiring, training, goal definition, on-call rotation, and audit compliance
- Support resource planning activities as it relates to SAP BASIS tasks and project support
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to Pratt & Whitney business users on SAP technical builds, tools, sizing, and performance requests
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a technical field and 10+ years of SAP BASIS experience, including experience managing an SAP BASIS team; OR an Advanced degree in Information Technology or a technical field and 7+ years of SAP BASIS experience, including experience managing an SAP BASIS team
- Must be a U.S. Citizen – this position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have experience in several of the following IT services and technologies:
- Hands-on technician familiar with SAP NetWeaver products with experience in all phases of the SAP lifecycle
- implementation
- operate & maintain
- upgrades (EHP, SP, kernel, HANA database)
- system copies (HANA, ABAP & Java)
Experience with more than one of the following products:
- Solution Manager / ChARM
- ECC
- BI/BW/BODS/BOBJ
- Java
- XI/PI
- GTS
- SCM
- Aii
- SAPGUI
- Application development standards, architectures, and best practices
- Internet facing technologies, including web services security
- ITAR and Export regulations as they apply to IT asset access control
- UNIX access for log review and SAP file maintenance
- Microsoft Windows software for PCs and servers
- System security techniques and policies
- Candidate must also have demonstrated leadership of successful process improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated previous focus on process development and implementation that span organizational boundaries is important
- Strong interpersonal skills are required including good written and oral communication capability
- Ability to effectively influence and direct the actions of those not within the direct reporting chain is essential
- 5+ years of experience managing SAP BASIS teams

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD – 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
