Job description

We currently have a vacancy for an Enterprise Architect fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Brussels, Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.Your tasks:

• Support projects by designing services and components (or supervising contractors’ design), encouraging re-use as well as committing that the design of the system will fulfil;
• Define in close collaboration with the contractors and the systems’ stakeholders the requirements, in particular the non-functional requirements (volume, scalability, confidentiality, integrity, availability, business continuity and disaster recovery planning);
• Analyze the integration of different information systems and ensure their interoperability;
• Follow up a set of horizontal projects (in the area of economic operators and customs classification of chemicals) in all their life cycle phases (inception, elaboration, construction and transition);
• Determine the IT architectural requirements and translate them into an action and project plan;
• Propose and supervise the application platform implementation designed to host the required customs application components in a SOA environment or any other existing architectural environment.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with a minimum of 17 years of relevant working experience in IT;
• Minimum 10 years of experience in IT systems architecture and design out of which a minimum of 5 years within customs environment performing systems architecture or project management activities;
• Experience in architecture modelling;
• Excellent experience with Oracle Fusion middleware, Oracle RDBMS, Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle J2EE as well as extensive knowledge of RHEL;
• Excellent knowledge of SOA standards;
• Excellent knowledge of service interfaces, service data and reference models;
• Excellent knowledge of interoperability technology (e.g. web services, message oriented middleware, service oriented bus);
• Excellent knowledge of service implementation patterns (synchronous, asynchronous, request/response, etc.), distributed system design and messaging layer;
• The following certifications & standards would be considered as an advantage: PRINCE2 Foundation, ITIL certification, Oracle OSB System administration, Oracle OEG Administration and Oracle OEM Administration;
• Knowledge and experience in Economic Operator System (EOS) and/or European Customs Inventory of Chemical Substances (ECICS2) is an asset;
• Knowledge about new technology trends such as cloud technology and containerization is an asset;
• Excellent command of the English language.
