We are seeking a compassionate and experienced English Teacher Assistant to support our educational programs in a humanitarian aid context. As a volunteer educator, you will assist in delivering English language lessons to students of varying ages and backgrounds, including adolescents and young adults, many of whom have different learning needs. This role provides the opportunity to help shape the educational journey of students while working in a multicultural, multilingual environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the adjustment and development of the curriculum to meet the specific needs of students, including those with exceptionalities
- Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials tailored for CEFR levels preA to B1, ensuring accessibility and engagement for all students
- Maintain daily attendance records, gather student feedback and track progress to monitor learning outcomes and identify areas for improvement
- Provide support with administrative tasks as needed, ensuring smooth operation of educational activities
- Teach in various group sizes and provide one-on-one tutoring to students, adapting lessons to meet individual needs
- Offer online lessons where necessary, ensuring continuity of education
- If interested, help prepare and conduct workshops on English language skills or related topics to enhance the learning experience
- Regularly monitor student cases and report on their progress to the relevant coordinator, ensuring that any issues are addressed in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- A TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification (or equivalent) is preferred
- Previous experience teaching English as a foreign/second language is highly desirable
- Comfortable teaching students from diverse backgrounds and adapting to a multicultural environment
- Ability to work with students who have varying educational needs
- Proficiency in English is required. additional languages are a plus.
