An exciting opportunity currently exists for an Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering team in our Wahgunyah Factory, which is home to the Uncle Toby’s Brand. This role will provide engineering professional and technical leadership in the Factory, ensuring people health and safety, product safety and environment are never compromised, and that all engineering activities enhance business objectives, product quality and plant operation and performance.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the Factory Manager and leading the engineering team, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Build Engineering Capability:
Ensure alignment of the engineering resources with Factory strategy and objectives.
Ensure that the needs of engineering and its functional competencies are identified, and that training meets these needs and cover any competency gaps.
Develop and coach Engineering competences at the factory (including technical and management competencies, talent review, career and succession planning, etc.)
Excel in Industrialisation:
Ensure investment strategy provides a framework (CIF) for the management of capital investment within the Factory.
Support the EM Pillar, ensuring implementation of Project Foundations throughout the preparation and execution of all capital and industrialisation projects.
Planned Maintenance:
Support and ensure implementation of Asset Maintenance and TPM-PM to deliver Asset Intensity to meet business requirements.
Manage maintenance expense control by budgeting and routinely reviewing expenditure.

MES – E&A:
What will make you successful
Joining a collaborative team, you will be a strong leader with a history of delivering results in a high-pressure environment. You have the demonstrated ability to adapt to fast-paced changes.
Degree/Diploma in an Engineering or Technical Bachelor discipline (Mechanical, E&A, Process, Industrial engineering, or similar).
8+ years’ experience in a technical field, preferably food manufacturing or consumer goods industry (as Project Engineer or Project Manager, Industrial Services, M&I or E&A/MES Engineer, or equivalent positions).
Experience in leading Fixed Assets Maintenance, including maintenance budget preparation and control.
Participation in the development of engineering projects >500kCHF.
Participation in the start-up of technical equipment(s) and/or production line(s) (preferably including industrial services supply).
Demonstrate Leadership in Continuous Excellence implementation and leading change in the factory environment.
Experience in dealing with key stakeholders (Unions, local authorities, etc.)
Self-management following defined KPIs / objectives, and proactively tracking them.
Experience in Personnel Supervision of technical teams, contractors or other 3rd parties.
Excellent communication skills and a proven capacity to influence and negotiate to drive high standards of performance and quality.
