- Conduct and support research projects by identifying suitable technologies, performing material characterization and evaluation, and support their implementation towards the final application
- Project management with collaborators (EU companies, institutes and universities)
The position involves research in various areas related to electric power trains, including material development for hydrogen tanks and process development for the production and recycling of these tanks. Additionally, it includes supporting the advancements of steel used in electric motors for European-built models. Responsibilities include hands-on activities such as experimental characterization and performance testing, as well as project management with multiple collaborators. This role contributes to global product research and development through close collaboration with Toyota Motor Corporation R&D, allowing for independent project management and ownership.Your Profile:
- You are fluent in English (TME business language)
- You have a master/PhD degree in materials engineering or equivalent specialization by experience
- You have experience in material characterization, analysis and testing
- You have strong analytical skills, perseverance, and the ability to work as part of a team. We are looking for curiosity, creativity and the will to explore innovative ideas and concepts. You like challenges, you are able to cope with project schedules and you can summarize results in a concise way.
- You have an open-minded personality and are a flexible team player
- You are owner of a driving license
- You are open to business travel (~10% of your time)
Preferred but not essential:
- Experience with composites and steel
- Internship/apprenticeship in Industry/Automotive sector is an asset
- Knowledge/experience in digitalization (programming, machine learning)
