OverviewThe primary purpose of the Energy Manager role is to support and drive Dublin Airports commitment to carbon reduction and energy efficiency improvement and to ensure compliance with all legal and other requirements. The Energy Manager will report into the Head of Energy & Utilities within Asset Management. The energy manager will lead an energy team who are responsible for energy management at Dublin Airport which includes energy metering, monitoring & reporting, energy and carbon targets, EV Chargers, Energy Centres, oil, regulatory compliance, recharge and billing of tenants, utility budgets and monthly reporting of energy & carbon performance.Qualifications

  • Degree Qualified in a relevant engineering, or energy management field.
  • Training or experience in energy management, data analysis, account management is a distinct advantage.
  • Training or experience in implementing ISO50001 required
  • Experience with public sector reporting (SEAI M&R) and with EU ETS reporting is preferred.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with complex datasets and interpreting results.
  • Ability to lead and manage a diverse team. Management experience is essential.
  • Experience calculating energy savings, tracking energy consumption figures, bill management and calculating carbon emissions.
  • Experience with utility budgets and structure of energy costs.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
  • Ability to present complex data to a non-technical audience.

ResponsibilitiesRegulatory Compliance & Reporting:

  • Maintaining ISO50001 certification and improvement of energy management system.
  • Quarterly Management Review with SMT to provide updates on energy team and status of ISO50001.
  • Liaison with internal departments to ensure compliance with requirements of ISO50001.
  • Ownership of SEAI Gap to Target Tool to ensure it is up to date.
  • Responsibility for annual EU ETS return including updating of all documentation.
  • Oversight of all external submissions in relation to energy.
  • Preparation of annual reports and monthly dashboards for internal reporting.

Carbon & Energy:

  • Promote energy efficiency across the airport.
  • Rollout of energy training for key personnel.
  • Setting of annual energy & carbon targets in line with government requirements.
  • Reporting and communication on progress towards carbon targets.
  • Ensuring energy and carbon of projects is considered and minimised.
  • Identification and promotion of energy efficiency projects.
  • Analysis of monthly energy figures.
  • Review of Energy Sustainability Statements for compliance with energy & carbon targets.
  • Support energy awareness campaigns.
  • Providing energy related information to system managers and relevant teams working on energy projects.

Budget:

  • Preparation of annual Opex budgets for energy department.
  • Preparation of annual utility budgets.
  • Updating of budgets on quarterly basis for latest expected.
  • Monthly analysis for finance with commentary on actual vs expected and drivers.
  • Hedging of gas and electricity contracts in line with group policy.
  • Liaison with energy consultants and maintain up to date information on energy markets.

Energy Monitoring System:

  • Ownership of energy monitoring systems.
  • Ensuring that energy monitoring systems are fully operational and accurate.
  • Identification of issues in relation to data collection, communication, other faults, and management of resolution to prevent loss of data.
  • Identification of metering gaps across the campus and cost benefit analysis of additional metering.
  • Support rollout of meter upgrades across campus.
  • Ensuring all new tenants and contractor sites are metered and billed correctly.

Engagement & Contract Management:

  • Preparation of tender documents with procurement for CHP Maintenance, DSU and Gas & Electricity Contracts.
  • Support Group Sustainability with their agenda including internal/external reporting and ACA compliance.
  • Engagement with project teams to ensure compliance with metering and energy efficiency requirements.
  • Liaison with project teams in regard to MV masterplan and renewable heating studies.
