Emulsion Polymer Scientist – Exciting OpportunityAre you a highly motivated and experienced Emulsion Polymer Scientist looking to take your career to the next level? Our client, a leading global player in specialty coatings, is seeking a subject matter expert in emulsion polymerization to join their dynamic R&D team.Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop water-based acrylic emulsion polymers for coatings, sealants, and adhesives.
• Execute experimental development of new emulsion polymers, from early concept to commercialization.
• Conduct lab experiments for the development of new emulsion polymers.
• Provide support for product and manufacturing challenges.
• Formulate next-generation emulsion polymers.
• Present data and findings at internal and external meetings.
• Collaborate with global R&D teams.
• Report directly to the R&D Director.

Education & Experience:

• PhD or Master’s degree in polymer chemistry.
• Approximately 3-5 years of experience in emulsion polymer synthesis.
• Insight into the European coatings landscape is a plus.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of emulsion polymer synthesis.
• Understanding of structure-property relationships for coatings, sealants, and adhesives applications.
• Innovation and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Management skills for leading chemists working on similar projects.
• Collaboration within the R&D team.
• Proficiency in analytical and mechanical characterization of emulsion polymers.
• Project planning skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Fluency in English.

Location:

• The position is based in Limburg near Hasselt, Belgium.
