Job Description:JPMorgan Chase’s Corporate Sustainability team is hiring an Associate in London to support the development and implementation of the Firm’s sustainability and ESG strategy in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.The Corporate Sustainability team works to advance sustainability in the financing activities of JPMorgan Chase’s lines of business (LOBs). The team manages several key priorities, including: the development and implementation of firmwide sustainability and climate-related targets; sustainability-related publications and narrative; and stakeholder engagement.As an Associate in EMEA Corporate Sustainability team you will be supporting the regional execution of the Firmwide Sustainability strategy, working closely with internal and external partners. The role requires close coordination with Sustainability Team colleagues and internal stakeholders globally, including Global Government Relations, Legal and Compliance, Risk Management, Finance, and our Lines of Business (e.g., Corporate & Investment Bank, Asset & Wealth Management).Job responsibilities

  • Supports the EMEA Sustainability Team in monitoring the EMEA sustainability landscape, identifying and analysing sustainability and ESG-related risks and opportunities for the Firm, including those emanating from investor groups, NGOs, corporates, financial industry peers, policymakers and standard setters
  • Works closely with internal partners across corporate functions and Lines of Business (LOBs) on a range of collaborative initiatives, including strategic engagement programmes (e.g. COPs and London Climate Action Week), and sustainability and ESG policy work
  • Conducts independent qualitative and quantitative research into salient sustainability topics in EMEA, in support of the team’s regional and global objectives, and prepare briefing and presentation materials for senior colleagues across the Sustainability Team and in LOBs
  • Leads response to ad-hoc requests from internal and external stakeholders, including helping to respond to inbound requests from clients and other external parties
  • Represents the Firm at external events, including industry conferences and roundtables, and, where appropriate, act as a spokesperson for the Firm on sustainability issues
  • Builds and maintains a personal network within sustainability spheres
  • Takes ownership of team initiatives, including team meetings
  • Contributes to the development of thought leadership

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Interest and relevant experience in sustainability and ESG space, including policy and/or regulatory development and analysis, consulting, strategy, research, or a related role focused on the financial services industry and sustainability trends issues
  • Strong project management and organisational skills; comfortable dealing with ambiguity and rapidly changing situations
  • Ease working across a range of complex issues; ability to learn new topics quickly, move between subjects and identify connections between different topic areas
  • Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to distil and present complex information plainly and succinctly to a range of audiences
  • Strong sense of ownership and an ability to work efficiently and independently under tight timelines
  • Comfort building and maintaining relationships with a broad set of functional partners within a large, matrixed organization
  • Strong initiative, entrepreneurial spirit, and creative thinking
  • Highest level of integrity and professionalism
  • Advanced technical skills in PowerPoint and good Excel skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree
