Are you the type of person who likes a fast-paced environment and likes to be challenged?If so, join us as an Electrical Engineer and you’ll join one of the most exciting and ambitious projects within EDF, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK.The Opportunity…At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is responsible for delivering the design for a number of NI buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. Therefore, a Technical Directorate is being created, responsible for the engineering disciplines and technical expertise required to deliver the different engineering projects through integrated teams in EPR-E.As an Electrical Engineer, you will serve as the local point of contact for managing topics related to electrical parts within the scope of works of the Responsible Designer for both BNI and CI/BoP (cable trays, cables, cabinets, sensors).   • Serving as the local point of contact for managing electrical part-related topics, including cable trays, cables, cabinets, and sensors.
  • Handling requests within the scope of your delegated authority.
  • Detailing, proposing solutions, and coordinating the resolution of requests with back-office staff.
  • Challenging requests and other topics from contractors and HPC.
  • Approving updates to deliverables previously issued by back-office teams and updated by JDO teams.
  • Ensuring continuity and consistency of the design modified by JDO teams.
  • Ensuring compliance with methods, tools, processes, and delegated authority from back-office teams.
  • Safeguarding the interests of the Responsible Designer in the JDO, particularly regarding intellectual property and design responsibility.
  • Contributing to the closure of design open points after the delivery of design packages to the site.
  • Deploying RD tools and building strong relations with back-offices in Bristol, Paris, and Tours.
  • Participating in the continuous improvement of the team.
  • Engaging in JDO Electrical team meetings, sharing technical topics.
  • Contributing to the creation of OPEX for future projects (SZC or EPR2).
  • Regularly reporting to the Electrical Discipline Lead on achievements, progress updates, difficulties encountered, and raising alerts for design non-conformances.

Who you are…Your background may include some of the following:

  • Science or Electrical engineering degree with experience in Electrical design.
  • 5 years minimum in specification, design, procurement, and installation of electrical components.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills, conscientiousness, and quality awareness.
  • Experience of producing technical documentation.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills including the ability to manage several work streams simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of RCC-E Code, 2D and 3D Design Software would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of the HPC project or previous EPR and associated studies is a real asset.
