The Australian team is seeking an experienced Economics Reporter to join them in a full time capacity based in the Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery. This role forms a critical part of the Australian’s leading coverage of politics and economics.

Key Responsibilities

• Report and analyse economic data, reports, and speeches

• Reporting to the Canberra bureau chief and editors in Sydney

• Come up with your own ideas for engaging digital and print content

• Ensure that dynamic, original and interesting economics content is being produced efficiently

• Produce fast, clean copy that interests our readership

Who are you?

• Strong understanding of economics, politics and finance

• Have senior reporting experience on economics

• Be able to generate unique stories through contacts and data analysis Able to intersect the economic developments with political consequences

• You want to tell stories, in words, pictures, video and audio

• You can write clearly and concisely

• Work in a team environment
