How have you transformed software development through DevOps to drive significant innovation and efficiency? As the DevOps Senior Manager, you will lead the team in integrating DevOps practices to ensure high process quality and compliance with software regulatory requirements. By establishing a robust DevSecOps software pipeline, you will drive continuous improvement in embedded software development, capturing business impacts and identifying cost savings opportunities. In this role, you will see yourself as a strategic leader driving innovation, compliance, and efficiency within Power and Controls Digital Engineering.
This position offers remote work flexibility with expected working hours in CST/EST. The ideal candidate will be open to periodic engagement near Rockford, Illinois and Windsor Locks, CT, with travel expected to be around 15%.
What YOU will do:
- You will provide long-term DevSecOps leadership by creating strategic roadmaps (over 3 years) that align with business objectives.
- You will coordinate activities between technical teams and program leadership to ensure ongoing adoption of DevOps practices.
- You will lead the DevOps architecture and deployment team for Power and Controls.
- You will identify and capture business process impacts, while actively seeking cost-savings opportunities.
- You will interface with the Enterprise Digital Product Life Cycle team and SBU leadership to understand and integrate available services.
- You will drive DevOps adoption within Power and Controls, advocating for best practices and continuous improvement.

Education & Experience:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications you must have:
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Over 5 years’ experience in embedded Product Software Environment utilizing DO178, DO330/331 or equivalent regulations.
- Proficient in setting up, managing, and utilizing DevSecOps software factory/tools pipeline for the development, continuous integration, and delivery of embedded software products.
- Experience in executive communication and people management.
- Expertise in the aerospace product domain, including development and production standards and certifications.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, capable of developing clear, concise, and logically written business communications, as well as delivering recommendations.
- Ability to build strong relationships to leverage information and insights across technical and business groups.
- Proficiency in DevSecOps CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) Pipeline development processes and tools.
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle, CI/CD, and Release Engineering Processes.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD – 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
