Device Modelling Researcher
Offer DescriptionAs a device modelling researcher, you will use your device physics expertise to select, build and calibrate compact models for advanced (sub-nm) and exploratory devices. What you will doIn this position, you will be part of the imec department leading pathfinding of next generations semiconductor technologies, modelling and innovating with the most advanced CMOS devices and systems. As a device modelling researcher, you will be part of the device modelling (DEMO) team. This team takes a device-centric approach to pathfinding for future CMOS technologies in logic and memory. In this role, you will use your knowledge of the physics of logic and memory devices to select or build compact models capable of efficiently simulating the relevant physics across the wide range of dimensions and operating conditions necessary for device exploration. You will be responsible for the calibration of the compact models to measured data from experimental lots in our state-of-the-art fab, and to data from advanced simulations, e.g., semi-classical TCAD, quantum transport and micromagnetic simulators. The models you develop will be used in circuit simulations to drive the optimization of future technologies through Power-Performance-Area benchmarking from the device-level up to block-level place-and-route evaluations. In this role, you will thus interact closely with TCAD modelling experts, experimental device specialists, as well as technology and design experts. In addition, you will work closely with colleagues doing block level to full place-and-route evaluations of these technologies, working together to find multidisciplinary opportunities for improvements across design and technology.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsResearch Field Physics » Electronics Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Physics » Other Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Engineering » Electronic engineering Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsWho you are
