Development of Practical Guideline on Decolonial Feminist Approach to Conflict Sensitive Programming

Introduction:

ActionAid International, a global federation working towards achieving social justice, is in process of developing a practical guideline (including tools and techniques) to help the country programmes to design their programmes that ensures decolonial feminist approach to conflict sensitivity. The work has been ongoing for some time, and a Guideline is in the process of development (50% completed). ActionAid International is currently looking for a consultant who can assist the team in the process of completing the guideline document by 28 of December 2024.

Scope of Work:

The consultant will be providing a range of support to the team working on the guideline document. The scope of work to be performed will include the following:

Desk review:

Review of external and internal tools and techniques on conflict sensitive programmes and provide a suggestion on what are the tools that can be adopted considering HRBA and decolonial approaches.

Support in consultation:

Work with the leading team to capture input from colleagues during consultation processes.

Write/Edit: write / edit the chapters in consultation with the team.

Addressing feedback and finalizations of the guideline.

Expected Deliverables: A final version of the Conflict Sensitivity Guideline

Timeline: The task is to be completed by the end of December 28, 2024

Skills required:

  • Knowledge of research / desk review process
  • Capacity to facilitate dialogues with countries
  • Excellent writing skills (in English)
  • Previous experience of developing toolkits / guidelines
  • It is critical that the consultant applying have proven track record in terms of working on conflict sensitive approaches / conflict sensitivity. Furthermore, extensive knowledge on gender transformative approaches will be an added advantage.
