Design Manager for Hospitality Design and Construction ConsultancyPermanentSalary Guide: £60,000 – £70,000Quick Summary of this Design Manager Role A central London based design and construction consultancy known famously for their luxury restaurant projects is looking for a highly experienced design manager. This is a permanent position for an office based set up with a team of 25 highly driven professionals. This is a fast paced role, looking for a sharp and all rounder designer with extensive on site experience and thorough knowledge in delivering quality projects from concept to construction. This is a heavily management focused role and would best suit a flexible and malleable designer that’s a great team lead and that’s highly organised.Job Description for this Design Manager Role
- Take on projects from stage 3 onwards
- Work closely with external design teams
- Strong design and planning experience
- Produce detailed and comprehensive drawing packages
- Develop and produce from concept to tender to construction detailing
- Liaise with contractors on site
- Delegate working hours to wider design team
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers, manufacturers, site contractors and consultants
- Engage and overlook FF&E communications
- Attend meetings, correspond with design team
- Manage client relationships
Skills Necessary for this Design Manager Role
- Crucial: at least 7 years’ experience in the luxury hospitality sector
- An interior designer degree or equivalent
- Should have strong design intent and construction knowledge
- Experience in developing drawing packages and construction detailing
- AutoCAD AND Sketchup knowledge
- Excellent communicator, fluent in English
- Great at taking initiative, and must be highly organised
- Positive attitude and willing to help and mentor more junior designers
