This is an exciting role and would most likely suit someone with previous experience in a deputy team manager role where they have gained knowledge and experience of defined benefit pension schemes, project management and public sector pensions.XPS is the only UK pensions specialist listed on the London Stock Exchange Main Market and we have the scale and flexibility to think and act differently.   • Support the Team Manager for project delivery, project management and deputising for all aspects of management reporting, including completing centralised governance logs and trackers/MI promptly.
  • Build client relationships with trustees and corporate clients, and participate in trustee and client meetings where applicable.
  • Ensure all recorded project time is billed or accrued by the monthly deadline, all chargeable work is correctly recorded on the time recording system and billed as soon as possible.
  • Produce and sign off project quotations and book in/allocation of work once quotation approved.
  • Provide expert project solutions; keep abreast of technical and legislative developments within the pensions industry.
  • Alongside the Team Manager, disseminate information to team members on project delivery objectives and targets for assigned projects, including the presentation of technical matters at team meetings.
  • Assist the Team Manager with formal staff management responsibilities including areas such as conducting appraisals, setting individual and team objectives, handling HR, performance management issues and recruitment related activities as and where required.

Your profilePrevious technical Defined Benefit (DB) pensions knowledge and data projects knowledge. * Previous line or work management experience, for example leading projects/workstreams, appraisal process, HR issue management, client management.

  • Proven experience in formulating and writing project scope proposals, preparing and delivering to clients and subsequent client negotiations.
  • IT proficient, in particular Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
  • Experience of operating within and contributing to a compliant framework, and a strong understanding of quality standards.
  • May have achieved some exam successes in professional qualifications such as PMI / QPA / RPC / DPC / DPA and actively working towards full qualification
