To support our growth agenda we have a great opportunity for a Depot General Manager to manage one of our new Depots in Bury St Edmonds. The role will be accountable for 100+ heads, a multi-million £ operating budget and a transport function with a large fleet of commercial vehicles.The Depot General Manager will be responsible for leading the team, operational management, financial control, compliance, safety all whilst driving a continuous improvement agenda that allows us to continually strive towards making Hermes a great place to work.In addition to your team, you’ll be joining a team of 26 Logistics professionals who are responsible for managing our Depot network across the country.This position is ideal for someone who wants to make a difference and be responsible for positive change. Improved and more efficient ways of working are encouraged.   • Management experience of leading and managing a team
  • Experience of managing operational budgets and targets
  • Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment to tight deadlines
  • PC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office
  • An understanding of Transport regulations
  • Good communicator and able to liaise at all levels
  • Flexible approach to work to meet business requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 4 Direct Reports and a team of up to 100 indirect reports providing leadership and direction for the shift
  • Ensure Depot meets client SLA’s and budgetary targets
  • Ensure compliance with all site HSES rules and regulations
  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
