Our vessels provide a range of support, which include for example: dive support, military training, submarine rescue exercises, target/test equipment deployment/recovery and passenger transfers.The rotation for this role is 6 weeks on/3 weeks off. The vacancy offers an exciting opportunity for the right applicants to support a professional multi-skilled in the OOP Group.The purpose of the Deck Rating is to act as the main labour force on board their appointed vessel. The Deck Rating will carry out a range of duties in the task of assisting in the safe operation of the vessel or the handling of its cargo.Main duties:

• Berthing/Slipping of the Vessel.
• Ship Husbandry Tasks.
• Ship Operational Tasks.
• Cleaning Tasks as directed.
• Drive/operate deck machinery including cranes.
• Assist in repair and routine planned maintenance of ship’s equipment.
• Machinery care, routine maintenance and lubrication
• To be fully conversant with the use of all safety equipment, emergency procedures and contingency plans.
• Aware of the company Safety Management System- specifically:
• Permit to Work/Tag Out Systems
• Shipboard Management Team
• Shipboard Safety Committee
• Be familiar with safety routines and ensure necessary safeguards are in place before any maintenance/repair work commences.

• MCA Certificate of Competency as an Able Seafarer
• STCW Personal Survival Techniques (5 Year Refresher Course)
• STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (5 Year Refresher Course)
• STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (5 Year Refresher Course)
• STCW Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft (5 Year Refresher Course)
• STCW Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (5 Year Refresher Course)
• STCW Elementary First Aid
• Unrestricted ENG1
• Passport
• Methodical in approach
• Good standard of education

Desirable:

• Security Clearance
• US Visa (desirable)
• Manual Handling
• Crane Certification (desirable)
• Manual Handling (desirable)
• High pressure washing (desirable)
• Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable – Passenger/BUTEC Vessels)
• Tanker Familiarisation Course (desirable – Fuel/Water Barges)
• Crisis Management and Human Behaviour cert (desirable – Passenger Vessels)
• Familiarisation with company/industry specific systems:
