Summary:

The SQL Server Developer will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and tuning the performance of key banking applications managed by Fiserv. The candidate should have a strong desire to learn new technologies and concepts, and proactively seek opportunities to add value, improve efficiency, and increase productivity. This role involves working in a challenging environment, providing quality support for a highly available critical application. The candidate is also expected to undertake product support activities when necessary.

Please note, this role is NOT a core Database Administrator (DBA) role. It necessitates robust hands-on experience in database design and development using Microsoft SQL Server and TSQL. The candidate must be proficient in writing efficient scripts, applying performance tuning techniques, and independently producing production-ready T-SQL code.

Basic Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in database design, development, and application database administration.

• Experience with SQL Server 2016 and above.

• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server architecture, and database performance monitoring and tuning.

• Expertise in database design and development, including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and security permissions.

• Expertise in designing and developing SSIS packages and SSRS reports.

• Developer scripts for common database administration tasks such as backup, recovery, replication, and Always ON high availability.

• Writing automation scripts using PowerShell or other programming techniques.

• Experience in the Banking and/or Financial Services Industry.

• Experience in setting up, managing, and troubleshooting high availability groups and replication across non-production and production environments.

• Understanding and ownership of the database deployment process, with the ability to monitor and provide recommendations for improvement.

• Ability to monitor and optimize the performance of application databases to meet service level agreements.

• Experience working with the DevOps team to tune application stored procedures, database objects, and set up data scenarios in Development and test environments.

• Ability to support the Application team with code and data analysis and resolving deployment issues in non-production and production environments.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
