WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Kaseya is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Database Administrator – MySQL to join our talented team. As a Database Administrator at Kaseya, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the reliability, performance, and security of our databases, ensuring seamless data management for our cutting-edge IT management solutions.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As a Database Administrator – MySQL at Kaseya, you will be an essential member of our talented IT team, responsible for maintaining the integrity, performance, and security of our MySQL databases. Your expertise in database administration and optimization will be instrumental in ensuring seamless data management for our cutting-edge IT management solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, implement, and maintain MySQL databases, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as backup and recovery, database monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot database issues, identify root causes, and propose solutions.
- Work closely with developers, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineers and other stakeholders to ensure that database designs meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to deploy database changes and ensure that they are rigorously tested and documented.
- Proactively identify database performance problems and implement improvements.
- Review, optimize and refactor the existing database schema.
- Drive database best practices.
- Plan for long term scalability and architecture planning.
- Configure and monitor database replication and high availability solutions.
- Monitor and manage database security, including access control, encryption, and compliance with industry standards.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in MySQL and AWS technologies.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience as a MySQL DBA in a large scale environment.
- In-depth knowledge of MySQL database design, SQL, administration, and troubleshooting.
- SQL and query optimizing techniques with a demonstrable ability to both diagnose and prevent performance problems.
- Assist the development teams with database design and schema modifications.
- Experience with AWS RDS, EC2, S3, and other AWS services.
- Experience with database replication, high availability solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
