As a Data Science Lead within our Ireland Data & AI Practice, you’ll be instrumental in helping build our unique offering, leveraging cutting edge Microsoft technologies. As a member of our fast-growing Data Science team, you’ll work across Avanade’s Analytics practice to build and deploy bespoke, advanced data science solutions for some of the world’s leading businesses. Alongside this, our teams work across a range of industries building solutions at the cutting edge of NLP, Computer Vision, IoT, ML, AI, and Deep Learning. What you’ll do
- Assess client requirements and lead the design and development of analytics solutions based on data analysis, data science, technology, and business process design
- Work collaboratively with the wider Data Science leadership to shape our current and future offerings
- Program leadership including delivery team leadership and stakeholder management throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead the development of ML, AI, and statistical algorithms and solutions using R and Python
- Prepare advanced data analysis and present the results of these to business stakeholders, including solution prototypes and CRP (Conference Room Pilot) sessions
- Lead pre-sales activities to demonstrate how data science and statistics may be applied to potential clients
- As a senior member of the Avanade technical community, you will provide coaching and mentoring to motivate and inspire more junior colleagues from within your team and across the organization
Skills and experiences
- Demonstrated experience in the design and build of data science/AI solutions for customers
- In-depth understanding of structured and unstructured data analysis, streaming data, IoT, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and related topical analytics fields
- Significant experience in implementing/deploying data science solutions in Azure/AWS/GCP
- Comfortable actively engaging and leading sales and business development opportunities with clients
- Extensive commercial or academic experience of developing ML & AI solutions using R and Python
Desirable Skills
- Proven scientific research skills (published scientific papers and/or scientific conference presentations).
- Advanced degree (PhD) in machine learning, computer science, physics, applied mathematics or statistics.
