Job: ENERGY CENTRE OPERATIONS MANAGERLocation: Dublin 15, IrelandSalary: 100-120k (Along with bonus & full package)Type: PermanentWorking arrangement: On SiteSome on call is required outside standard hoursWe are looking for someone to run our energy centre within a large Data Centre group. You will oversee numerous large engines generating the power for our Dublin campus. You will be a Senior Authorised Person for HV and ideally LV Switching with a maintenance Operations background. If you feel that, is you, please read on for more details:Little more about the job:The business will be constructing both a temporary and permanent energy centre power generation solution. This is to provide critical power to our developing Dublin data centre campus. The permanent solution will be capable of providing power to a load in the region of 50Mw.The Energy Centre Operations Manager is responsible for managing all Engineering and facilities functions with regards to Management, supervision and delivery of engineering and facilities management services teams. The Energy Centre Operations Manager provides leadership and ensures that the Companys policies, standards, processes and procedures, and regulatory and legislative requirements, are being met and implemented and that all site services are being delivered to required standards.Additional responsibilities will include the full-time management of the temporary energy centre along with all transitions from temporary energy solutions to permanent solutions. This includes the planning and management of all maintenance activities and vendors. As a manger the reporting line will change to the Data Centre Manager.The successful candidate is required to have all necessary SAP, CP qualifications to allow for the switching of HV/MV/LV power systems.Your Responsibilities will include:
- Work with Group HQ to set strategic objectives for the site and manage the implementation of those objectives.
- Ensure that the engineering teams, are trained and competent to act as the first line response in the event of an incident or fault on site plant or infrastructure in order to minimise the potential and frequency for outages.
- Manage a rigorous change management system to ensure 100% uptime and zero customer impact/downtime is achieved across the facility.
- Have responsibility for Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) within the energy centre environment. Including working as an authorised person for the safe systems of work (SSOW) for both High Voltage and Low Voltage systems.
- Manage the training of staff in the areas of electrical CP and SAP.
- Identify operational deficiencies and recommend improvements to be implemented on site.
- Ensure that all operational standards and compliance requirements are implemented.
- Ensure adherence to Company policies, standards, processes and procedures and act as a champion in embedding them into day-to-day activities.
- Oversee site systems and critical facilities equipment such as:
- Energy centre BMS/CAFM Mechanical, Electrical, Cooling & Power Supply Systems
- Plan, implement, coordinate and supervise all mechanical/electrical operations, maintenance, and energy management programs regarding the Energy Centre platforms.
- Manage the site Permit to Work (PTW) system.
- Ensure that Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are reviewed and used for all maintenance activities.
- Ensure all maintenance logbooks are current and completed in line with respective compliance.
- Oversee scheduling of planned preventive maintenance, contracted maintenance, and general maintenance to ensure minimum disruption to service delivery.
- Recommend/implement improvements to the preventive maintenance programme.
- Devise technical enhancements to improve delivery of operations and services.
- Understand the engineering design and operational aspect of each building system.
- Manage incident and emergency response situations (i.e. security incidents, fires, evacuation, equipment failures etc.).
- Manage 3rd party service suppliers/managed service providers to ensure delivery of value for money.
- Develops and drives data centre metrics to improve processes, efficiencies, and productivity.
- Supports concurrent, complex infrastructure deployment projects on time and within budget.
Financial ManagementWork with Group Finance in the planning, budgeting, and control of operating and capital expenditure including submit all required financial reports. Managing budgets, approving invoices etc.Manage direct reports and directly employed contractors.We are looking for people that would be familiar with the above, some qualifications ideally we are looking for include:
- You should come from a formal or qualified engineer or hold equivalent experience.
- Authorised Person experience on both High Voltage and Low Voltage electrical systems.
- Experience of implementing projects in a technical environment and an awareness of the business and technical issues associated with a managed service environment.
- Previous Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) management experience.
- Proven management, technical and leadership skills, excellent attention to detail etc.
