The work we do here matters.Department Overview CRS is a mission critical secure control room solution providing integrated voice, data and multimedia communications hub to harness the power of a software as a service, simplifying control room IT management and reducing risk with ongoing enhanced communication functionality to meet the needs of the UK’s emergency services.Job DescriptionThis role is a fully remote / home working role, with frequent travel to UK and occasional international locations.This role will take technical ownership of all CommandCentral CRS deployments, both current and in the future.Dimensions/Scope:
Reports to Head of CRS Technical Operations.Competencies, Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Overall technical ownership of CommandCentral CRS deployments;
- Product is primarily targeted at Emergency Services to respond to life-critical situations. These include providing 999 call handling and Dispatch of staff to Emergencies;
- Provide assistance to pre-sales and the bid team;
- Frequent customer contact is to be expected.
You will work with the Customer’s IT and Infrastructure leads to integrate the CommandCentral CRS on-prem solution and associated interfaces, with their established technology, policies and procedures.You will produce system designs and specifications, and overall architectures, topologies, configuration databases and design documentation of networks and networking technology within Command Central CRS deployments. You will also work closely with our Systems Engineers teams to ensure that the solutions are built and configured as per the required design.Specify user/system interfaces, including validation and error correction procedures, processing rules, access, security and audit controls. Assesses associated risks, and specifies recovery routines and contingency procedures. Translate logical designs into physical designs.Supports the pre-sales and bid processes to ensure our solution proposals are fully designed and documented.Basic RequirementsTechnical Expertise & Academic and Technical Qualifications:
Must Have
- Ability to attain NPPV3 and SC clearance;
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
- Strong business/customer facing experience;
- Fundamental Knowledge of System Level Design;
- Fundamental Knowledge of network principles (including security), WAN technologies and routing;
- Fundamental Knowledge of Microsoft Server Family including Server Core;
- Experience/support of Microsoft Server High availability including clustering, IIS (web hosting), Application Request Routing, files shares;
Desirable
- Experience and/or knowledge of architecting or supporting Azure
- Experience and/or knowledge of architecting or supporting VMware and NSX
- Experience/support VOIP;
- Experience with SIP technologies;
- Experience/support of Microsoft SQL;
- Exposure to REST API interfaces;
- Exposure to Web Map Services.
Other technical expertise, experience and knowledge:Desirable – Experience working with Telephone (PSTN/PBX/SIP, etc.) and Radio (TETRA, DMR, Broadband PTT etc.) Communications systems.Experience working with CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) solutions.In return for your expertise, we’ll support you in this new challenge with coaching and development every step of the way.
