Role Overview: As a Creative Communications Intern, you will play a vital role in shaping the narrative of our organization through innovative content creation and strategic communication efforts. Your contributions will directly support our 2025-2026 Communications Strategy, aimed at engaging a global audience and motivating action (donate, advocate, contact, share and follow).
Reports to: COO/Director of Communications and Talent
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Compile and develop compelling and engaging content for our social media platforms, ensuring alignment with our brand and mission while respecting ISS terminology and culture.
- Social Media Strategy: Collaborate with the Director of Communications to design and implement creative social media campaigns that increase audience engagement and awareness of ISS activities.
- Newsletter Development: Conceptualize and create a fresh layout and engaging content for our ISS General Secretariat Newsletter, highlighting key initiatives and success stories.
- Collaborative Outreach: Connect with ISS members and stakeholders to gather insights and stories that enrich our external communications and showcase our impact.
- Graphic Design: Utilize graphic design skills to produce eye-catching visuals for various communication channels, including infographics, promotional materials, and social media posts.
- Team Participation: Actively participate in the ISS Network Communications Working Group, contributing ideas and strategies to enhance our outreach efforts.
- Legal: Specific attention to copyrights and trademarks when using web-based publications.
Qualifications
- University graduate, preferably in communications, marketing, or a related field.
- A creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and modern communication techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; fluency in French is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools, e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite. Having a portfolio demonstrating your design capabilities would definitely be a plus.
- A proactive team player who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, with a genuine interest in socio-humanitarian issues.
