About the role

As a Mechanical Craft Technician in our dedicated team at the home of Baileys Original Irish Cream in Nangor Road Dublin, you will be responsible for supplying to the achievement of site key performance indicators through production and quality focused operation and maintenance of the site equipment.

You’ll come from a mechanical maintenance background and will have experience working to world class standards of maintenance and continuous improvement within a FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) environment.

Duties will include:

• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all equipment, ensuring the quality of goods produced and compliance with Health and Safety, C & E, and statutory regulations.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to plant emergencies, breakdowns, and other mechanical maintenance tasks.
• Analyse, diagnose, and repair faults to minimize downtime.
• Work with industrial plant maintenance, conveying systems, high-speed packaging equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated control systems.
• Proficient in TIG welding and the reading of P&IDs. Familiarity with SCADA systems is advantageous, with training provided as needed.
• Applicants must have experience working in a highly complex environment and demonstrate the ability to work independently.
• Accurately record and report maintenance outcomes through the SAP maintenance system to support the sharing of best practices.

Health and safety compliance is key, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring this is supervised.

Shifts

As a Mechanical Craft Technician you will work a 38-hour week. 2 shifts (from 7am to 4pm and from 3pm to 12am) Monday to Thursday. Every second Friday work required during peak times between July and November.

About you

We are looking for someone who has completed a recognised time-served mechanical apprenticeship, with post-apprenticeship experience in industrial maintenance and mechanical installation, ideally within an FMCG environment.

A strong understanding of asset performance, maintenance philosophy, and process improvement in a manufacturing setting is important. Proficiency in IT skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required, and experience with maintenance management software is advantageous.

Someone who can work well within a team as well with the ability to make effective decisions and thrive in situations where they can solve problems.
