What’s the role?
NewsCorp is looking for an experienced court reporter to join its fast-paced, digitally-focused community network.
We’re looking for a confident and agile journalist who can cover Sydney courts to provide relevant state-wide content and give readers insight into the crimes that unfold in the community and how they’re dealt with.
The role requires an enthusiastic and resilient writer with demonstrated ability who isn’t afraid to front up to court and give a fair and accurate account of proceedings.
The best candidate will have experience covering court and crime, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, an understanding of social media and the ability to pitch and deliver engaging, high-quality content.

What’s the role?

Must have court reporting experience

Willing to work regular weekends, two per month either Saturday or Sunday shifts

Source and produce compelling stories that resonate with an audience

Deliver relevant content that both engages our existing subscribers and attracts new readers

Work under deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment without compromising on quality or accuracy

Focus on online engagement and drive subscription growth

Understand digital data and use it in planning content

A confident and experienced journalist with demonstrated ability

Thrives on the challenge of meeting business outcomes and reader expectations and actively looks to exceed them

Strong news judgment and high level of accuracy

Understands and has experience in digital storytelling

Willing to embrace change and demonstrate agility in a fast-paced sector

Self-starter who can maintain high levels of personal organisation and time management

Understand social media, SEO, digital data

Harding working, detail-oriented and able to stay calm under pressure
