You will have responsibility for leading the course in learning, teaching and the development of the curriculum and will also play a significant role in the development of performance related research and knowledge transfer.The successful candidate will have experience of a leadership role, with advanced skills in the design, development and delivery of high-quality student learning experiences which are informed by current expertise, research, and professional practice. As a leader of a creative team, you will contribute effectively to the strategic direction of the course, Bournemouth Film School and the University.We are seeking an experienced practitioner with a sound industry background that reflects current and contemporary practice and who has experience of teaching within higher education. Alongside course leader duties you will actively contribute to the delivery and assessment of practical and theoretical elements on the course at all levels. We are particularly looking for candidates with knowledge of specialist skills in one or more of the following areas: movement for actor training; voice acting and/or training; screen acting; devising; theatre history and performance theory. Knowledge of other systems of performance training, for example: Stanislavski, Jacques Lecoq, are also highly desirable.We are also looking for applicants who can draw upon established networks through their experience in Higher Education and their proven track record of professional engagement within the discipline in order to develop and drive initiatives particularly in teaching, learning and research.You will hold a Masters degree in a relevant subject and a teaching qualification and/or Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellow Membership. A PhD in a relevant area is desirable but not essential.Our benefitsIn meeting your performance expectations, each year you’ll have a salary increase in line with the grade of your role.
