Your Role: As a Corporate Insurance Consultant, you will strategically lead the Corporate Insurance Program (CIP) working with external partners, management, and internal clients. Provide subject matter expertise at a master level and develop relatively routine board material on the targeted area of expertise while working in consultation on what to convey and how the material is presented.

Your work:

  • Enable the company to achieve its strategy through an efficient and effective risk transfer via the purchase of multiple insurance coverages collectively known as the corporate insurance program.
  • Develop strong relationships across multiple levels with insurance partners and brokers in support of the CIP.
  • Develop the CIP annual budget and actively monitor it throughout the year.
  • Assist in the management of organizational risks via the review and edit or creation of insurance clauses within corporate contracts.
  • Work with departments to minimize the company’s exposure to risk arising from organizational activities by effectively employing the risk management process of identify loss exposures, analyzing mitigation techniques, and implementing the best technique.
  • Work closely with departments managing claims made against the company to ensure timely reporting of those claims under the appropriate corporate insurance coverage.

Required Experience, Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or risk management or equivalent in related areas
  • 3 + years’ experience in Risk Management, Commercial insurance claims, or Commercial insurance brokering or underwriting
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills to accurately complete complex projects within tight deadlines, including ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A solution-oriented problem solver with strong analytical skills. Able to quickly gain a working knowledge of the company’s operations and overall business goals and objectives.
  • Experience working with operational / product / financial measures and models, business planning, cost/benefit analysis, project management and advanced analysis.
  • Able to negotiate and collaborate with all levels of personnel from end users to executive management.
  • Ability to influence results with or without formal authority, often delivering results through others.
  • Strategic vision and ability to build business case scenarios.
  • Ability to lead, mentor and provide training and guidance to others.
  • Strong understanding of insurance financials including income statement and balance sheet,.
  • People-oriented with excellent communication skills (oral and written modes)

  • Chartered Property/Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM)
  • Financial Risk Management (FRM)
  • Associate in Reinsurance (ARe)

The national average salary range for this position is $122,000 – $136,000. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $110,000-$164,000. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 12% of eligible pay.
