With offices in 30 countries and projects in more than 100 countries, Conservation International partners with governments, companies, civil society, Indigenous peoples, and local communities to help people and nature thrive together.POSITION SUMMARY – This position could be based in Bolivia, Brazil (remote), Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guyana, Mexico, Suriname, Peru, or Belgium.In 2020, Conservation International (CI) launched the to collaborate with practitioners of nature-based solutions to fundamentally transform the engineering and construction industry to design and build with nature – to create the next generation of climate-resilient infrastructure. The CoP serves as a forum for collaboration across the conservation, engineering, finance, and construction sectors to generate and scale green-gray climate adaptation solutions. Green-gray infrastructure combines conservation and/or restoration of ecosystems with the selective use of conventional engineering approaches to provide people with solutions that deliver climate change resilience and adaptation benefits. By blending “green” and “blue” conservation with “gray” engineering techniques, communities can incorporate the benefits of both solutions while, through a hybrid approach, minimizing the limitations of using individually. The CoP has grown to 180+ member organizations and 600+ individuals – representing non-profit, academic, government, and private organizations spanning the globe.The Global Green-Gray Community of Practice Coordinator will be part of a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic team, and will work closely with internal and external partners, including collaborating with CI experts in the Center for Center for Oceans, the Conservation Finance Division, Natural Climate Solutions, and the International Blue Carbon Institute.The Global Green-Gray Community of Practice Coordinator provides administrative, operational, strategic, and project support to expand the Global Green-Gray Community of Practice. This position will provide technical support to the COP, including building out technical, policy, and innovative finance working groups to further the mission of the COP. Tasks may encompass supporting the development and management of the COP including working groups, supporting budget management, and managing a database of individual members and organizations. Additionally, aiding in project start-up activities such as developing trackers, drafting communication materials, managing project documentation through shared platforms, and coordinating calendars, workshops, and meetings are key aspects of this position. The Coordinator is expected to provide technical support on project implementation, including conducting research and drafting reports and/or creating presentations, as well as supporting or facilitating the working groups, compiling data, and promoting the COP.The ideal candidate has experience in administration and operations, with the ability to make independent judgments related to administrative matters and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of management both inside and outside of CI. This position requires superior relationship-building skills, the ability to multi-task, and a high degree of professionalism. This may include organizing conference calls, meetings, trainings, workshops, logistics, minutes, reporting and logistics for an in-person summit.RESPONSIBILITIESMeeting and Workshop planning, implementation, and coordination:

  • Support planning for meetings, working groups, workshops, and events, including venue rental, travel logistics, material coordination, organizing vendors, and suppliers.
  • Coordination, material circulation, note-taking, and other support for meetings as needed.

Administrative Support:

  • Support meeting scheduling and calendar alignment, periodic CoP emails, and newsletters.
  • Respond to CoP e-mails.
  • Curate and maintain organized agendas, work products, shared folder structure, and files.

Operational Support:

  • Support all logistics of CoP including working groups and webinars on Zoom and MS Teams.
  • Support managers with internal reporting.

Project Support:

  • Support content development such as Practical Guide to Implementing Green-gray Infrastructure and Green-Gray Infrastructure Funding and Financing Playbook.
  • Conduct research as needed.
  • Support presentation development, donor reporting, and data and knowledge management as needed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Curate and maintain shared team folders and documents – internal CI SharePoint.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office environment, may need to work extended hours. May require travel.
  • This position follows a hybrid work structure, working some days from the office and some remotely. Guidance will be shared during the interview process.
  • This is a fixed-term assignment, expected to be 21-months.

QUALIFICATIONSRequired

  • 2-4 years of related experience
  • Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office collaboration tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Solid attention to detail and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to function well in a multicultural, diverse, and fast-paced work team environment.
  • Comfortable managing multiple duties and adaption to changing priorities.
  • Service focus. Courteous, tactful, and proven ability to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to work under general supervision and take initiative to solve problems under the supervisor’s direction.
  • Positive attitude and ability to overcome obstacles to achieve ambitious targets.
  • Experience or familiarity with nature-based solutions

Preferred

  • Passion for nature and preferably the ocean.
  • Technical knowledge of nature-based solutions, oceans, coastal ecosystems, and policy.
  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience.
