Role: Continuous Improvement EngineerLocation: Welwyn Garden CityShifts: Three Shift (Mon-Fri, Earlies, Lates and Nights Weekly Rotation)Salary: £60,000 + Overtime (1.5X/2.0X) +Benefits: Great Pension Scheme + Holidays + Healthcare + Life Insurance + Long Service Bonus + 15% Night Shift AllowanceThe Company:Our Client are a global manufacturing business with multiple sites in the UK. This business has been in operation for over 100 years and with multiple long standing contracts and a growing order book, this business offers fantastic stability and a long term career for the right Continuous Improvement Engineer. The business is now investing in increasing the level of automation so there are multiple projects that the Continuous Improvement Engineer will be involve with.With a strong Maintenance team on site you will be working alongside a shift partners and Senior Engineers too. The Engineering Manager is implementing a culture where the Engineers support each other and work alongside one another to tackle any of the challenges that the machinery gives them.The Role:The role of Continuous Improvement Engineer will include the following:

  • Managing Projects from cradle to grave ensuring that they are complete to a high standard
  • Provide technical advice in troubleshooting and problem-solving situations
  • Creating solutions to increase the reliability of the Automated systems
  • Using Continuous Improvement methodologies to improve the efficiencies of machinery
  • Participating in Production meetings, keeping key stakeholders informed of ongoing projects
  • Programming on PLCs(Siemens and Mitsubishi) to upgrade the automation on existing machinery

The Candidate:The right Candidate for the role of Continuous Improvement Engineer will be/have:

  • Have a recognised Engineering Qualification
  • Be able to Programme on PLCs
  • Excellent Fault Finding Skills
  • Experience with managing small projects
  • Be able to work well within a team and support the Maintenance Engineering team.
  • An understanding and experience of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT)
