Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic, international non-governmental organisation. We work with people affected by violent conflicts to enhance their security and dignity through Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP). We work to reduce violence, protect civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath, and help transform the world’s response to conflict situations.

JOB SUMMARY

The main emphasis of this consultancy is to design a world-class online education platform dedicated to providing integrative and accessible education and training opportunities that increase understanding of and access to the theory and practice of UCP, strengthen the capacities of individuals and communities worldwide to interrupt cycles of violence and enhance nonviolent responses to conflict, and foster a community of practice where participants can exchange experiences, knowledge best practices, and lessons learned in the field of UCP.

TIMELINE

The consultancy will take place between December 1, 2024 and January 15, 2025.

DELIVERABLES

  1. Design, optimise, and operationalise an effective, user-friendly online learning platform for hosting UCP courses, equipped with specialised learning tools and the capacity to generate revenue.
  2. Train the Global Training Manager in all aspects of managing the platform.
  3. Support the preliminary phase of marketing of a pilot online course on UCP.
  4. Write Standard Operating Procedures for how people in the UCP community can use the platform and upload content and courses.

CONSULTANT PROFILE

  • Demonstrated capacity in web design and knowledge of different analogous tools.
  • Technical understanding of online learning platforms, including how to set up accessible systems that will allow practitioners within the UCP community to upload their own courses and content.
  • Knowledge of ways to enhance online learning that ensure user-friendly implementation of compelling methodologies and specialised online learning tools (e.g. videos, audio, seminars, online group dialogues, translation plug ins, etc.).
  • Understanding of how to create structures for online payment of courses, secure login for members, funneling systems to enhance participation in courses, and effective marketing strategies to attract participants.
  • Exceptional coordination skills, with the ability to prioritise, plan, and organise data
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Passion for the mission and values of the organisation and experience or familiarity with the field of Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP) and NP’s work is an added value.
