Job description

A leading commercial law firm is seeking an ambitious Company Secretary as part of the firm’s expansion within the Corporate/Commercial Department.Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and file statutory, company secretarial, and corporate compliance documents, including annual returns, resolutions, and meeting minutes.
• Manage and assist with a large portfolio of client companies, ensuring timely compliance with annual and statutory filing obligations.
• Provide advice on company law matters, including the Companies Act 2014 and the UK Companies Act 2006, to both internal colleagues and external clients.
• Assist the Head of Company Secretarial in growing and developing the company secretarial unit.
• Maintain and update Statutory Registers and manage client files.
• Occasionally attend board meetings.
• Draft board and general meeting minutes and related documentation.

Requirements:

• Experience in a company secretarial role is preferred
• Chartered Governance Institute qualification or part qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Ambition and drive to contribute to and grow within the unit.
