Company Manager (Performing Arts)
Specialising in performing arts logistics, administration, and hospitality, the Company Manager is a critical role in the team and will be responsible for the following: • Drafting and negotiating contracts with artists, staff, venues, and suppliers, ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled on both sides. • Coordinating rehearsal and performance schedules, ensuring that all logistical aspects of productions run smoothly. • Booking rehearsal and performance spaces, maintaining positive long-term relationships with host venues. • Accurately tracking and reconciling departmental expenses and relevant production budget expenses. • Compiling and managing invite lists. Controlling available ticket allotments, managing requests from within the company and releasing seats for sale in a timely manner to maximize further revenue potential. • Developing welcome packs at the beginning of rehearsal processes outlining pertinent information such as building hours, rehearsal schedules, nearby medical resources, recommendations on local activities/dining, etc. • Arranging all guest artist and touring company travel and accommodation logistics including: domestic and international transportation, per diem payments, and lodging for cast and crew. • Creating, updating, and distributing itineraries and touring information to all traveling artists and crew in a timely fashion. • Assisting with Arts Council funding applications as required. • Tracking income and expenditure, Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation throughout to assist with prompt Arts Council reporting and wrap up at the end of each production. • Expecting the unexpected- the above is an inexhaustive list, as no production or team will have the same needs. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: • Minimum 5 years of experience working in the performing arts, preferably with national and international touring experience • Experience across at least 3 different live art forms is essential (music, theatre, opera, and/or dance). • Existing networks and positive working relationships in the Irish performing arts sector and abroad. • Familiarity with arts funding and financial reporting processes including but not limited to awards available in Ireland through The Arts Council, Culture Ireland and Creative Europe. • Exceptional interpersonal written and oral communication, organization, and budgeting skills. • Collaborative and consistent work ethic with the ability to maintain and exude pleasant, calm, professional demeanor in high pressure situations. • Willingness to respond effectively and appropriately to emergency needs. • Interest in mentoring and training up-and-coming Company Managers and emerging Producers. • Strong Excel skills. • Flexibility and willingness to travel regularly.
