SUMMARY
The Communications Specialist is responsible for assisting with the coordination, creation, and distribution of communications functions in collaboration with the Corporate Communications team and partners.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is part of the Corporate Communications team, ensuring all internal and external communication efforts reflect AARs vision and strategy. Specifically, this position will write and create content, manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and support the advancement of AAR’s communication strategy.

Serve as company resource for all company-wide internal communications and video content.

Coordinate and administer, with direction, the long-range strategic communication planning activities.

Write for executives, as well as solicit and edit content from locations/facilities worldwide, for Company Intranet and media publications.

Photograph Company events and employees, as well as assist/create videos for internal promotion and possible use on social media.

Collaborate with other departments as needed.

Support monitoring of general, industry, and social media.

All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

Exceptional writing, editing, and presenting skills.

Strong editing background with AP Style.

Experience with social media platforms and familiarity with best practices.

Ability to multitask and respond to urgent needs while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.

Detailed oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrates professionalism, courtesy, and openness to feedback.

Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Background creating communications plans.

Video editing abilities a plus.

Experience working for a publicly-traded company a plus.

Experience working closely with senior management a plus.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
-
Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university. Journalism, Communications, Public Relations and/or Marketing major/degree preferred.

1-3 years of full-time experience in a similar position/role.
