HOW A COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Our work depends on a Communications Specialist Advisor joining our team to support Geospatial Services and Solutions (GSS) Business Area and Program activities. As a Communications Specialist Advisor, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the communications strategy. This role requires a communicator with a passion for informing, engaging, and motivating employees and an interest in learning how to use internal communications strategies to support overall business objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create compelling, high-quality content, craft stories, and manage communications channels using excellent communications and creative design skills.

  • Integrate relationships across GDIT functional, growth, and operations teams to ensure success in meeting both short-term and long-term goals

  • Support the GSS Business Area VP in planning high-profile meetings, employee engagement activities, and other events and/or engagements as needed.

  • Attend and prepare meeting summaries as required; Develop draft materials, talking points, written communications, presentations, etc.

  • Participate and/or lead special projects as needed. Provide creative direction and reviews for visual and written communication.

  • Participate in projects to lead communication planning and strategy that includes operational updates.

  • Build niche presentations, speeches, presentation materials and audiovisuals for Town Halls, Team Meetings, and other forums.

  • Communicate upcoming operational impacts in a timely manner.

  • Provide consultant services to leadership related to communication methods and delivery vehicles for effective communication.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Eight (8)+ years with Communications and/or Business Administration experience

  • Excellent critical thinking and strategic skills necessary to understand GSS business area dynamics and tailor communications accordingly

  • Demonstrated success is developing and executing communication plans

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to work effectively in a team environment with colleagues from a variety of departments and leadership levels

  • Outstanding time management, as well as organizational and project management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work within accelerated timelines, while delivering high quality products

  • Ability to give effective feedback and share creative and new ideas

  • Detail orientation and accuracy with information

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite

DESRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • In-depth knowledge of the Intelligence Community (IC) mission and market, especially NGA

  • Active (or ability to obtain) TS/SCI with Poly Clearance, or ability to obtain

The likely salary range for this position is $111,897 – $151,389. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
