Intermusica is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Communications & Marketing Assistant to help tell our story, deliver our ambitious marketing strategy, and work with our artists and managers to help them achieve their publicity goals. You are a creative and adept individual, confident in your work, meticulous in your attention to detail, and ready to bring new ideas to the table.You will have a key role in delivering our marketing strategy, with a particular focus on social media, website content creation, print and email marketing.A key member of the team, you will develop your skills in speaking to our audiences across a range of social media platforms, working closely with artists and their managers to support promotional activities, and have opportunities to see your work in action through attending performances.About IntermusicaIntermusica is an international classical music management agency. We support and encourage artists and promoters in their commitment to making music more inclusive, supporting artists and composers from under-represented communities, and achieving gender balance in classical music performance and programming.Founded in 1981 by current Chief Executive Stephen Lumsden, Intermusica has a highly-experienced workforce of 50 staff based in London, New York, Berlin and Munich.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:Social Media and Digital Content Creation (60%)Working with the Digital Marketing Manager to deliver campaigns across our social media channels and our website, liaising with Artist Management Teams to ensure that key stories are being told effectively and that our output is consistently high quality.Assisting the Digital Marketing Manager with the creation of video and other rich media assets to help communicate across a range of platforms.Writing high-quality cross-company news stories and features for the website, as well as editing and proofreading those delivered by other colleagues.Assisting the Digital Marketing Manager in monitoring and reporting on all campaign progress and incorporating insights as part of a strategic review process.Working with the Communications & Marketing Team and other internal stakeholders to keep the website up-to-date and fresh.Working with the Communications & Marketing Director to provide insights into website usage and the sales pipeline through analytics and heatmapping.Being an internal brand ambassador, ensuring that colleagues are aware of house styles and that messaging is on-brand and executed to the highest level of quality.PR & Public Relations (10%)Working alongside the Communications & Marketing Director, develop skills in PR and Public relations, including analysing risk and developing contingency plans.Fielding journalist enquiries to relevant team members.Maintaining and developing press contact lists.Intelligence Gathering (5%)Monitor artist and company news, and keep a strong awareness of wider industry developments to identify risks and opportunities.Maintain awareness of new marketing and communications products, developments and best practices, feeding into departmental intelligence.Internal Communications and Departmental (25%)Send company-wide bulletins about artist performances.Represent the department at internal meetings, occasionally deputising for Communications & Marketing Director and Digital Marketing Manager.Maintain close working relationships with colleagues in overseas territories, ensuring that their sales and marketing resource needs are met.Participate in bi-weekly Communications & Marketing meetings and occasional departmental meetings for other departments, as required.Take notes at Departmental and Artist Strategy Meetings.Further develop and maintain internal ticketing systems for website changes.PERSON SPECIFICATIONRequired/essentialPrevious experience of working in marketing and social media.Excellent creative writing and editing skills.Can-do attitude and a willingness to develop skillsets.Knowledge of social media best practices.Resilient and calm under pressure, with the ability to multitask and deal with conflicting priorities in a frequently fast-paced environment.A team player who builds trust by being solutions-focused and accountable for their work.Confident in dealing with important clients.Reliable, conscientious and highly organised.Interest in and knowledge of classical music.DesirablePrevious experience of working in an arts/music organisation.Understanding of web languages, particularly HTML and CSS.Working knowledge of a second modern language, particularly German and Mandarin.Experience of using Adobe Creative Cloud.Experience of using CRM systems.Intermusica is committed to improving equality and diversity within our staff team and the wider classical music sector and to being an inclusive workplace.
