Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.About usAs a Commissioning Manager within the Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism Commissioning Team, you will be joining a dynamic and partnership-focused service that sits within Camden’s Adult Social Care department.Commissioning high quality and innovative services, building sustainable and effective partnerships and thinking long-term for our residents is a vital part of delivering our vision in Camden.Don’t just take our word for it – you can read about some of the different people working in the Council.The roleThe Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Commissioning Team are seeking to strengthen our team by appointing two Commissioning Managers.This is an exciting and varied role within the team which is responsible for leading on an outcomes-focused and strengths-based approach to contract management to deliver high quality services for our residents, and using local data and insights to support the delivery of innovative services, service redesign and commissioning strategies. The team is responsible for a wide portfolio of services which include supported accommodation, community and floating support, prevention services, employment and advocacy.The post holder will require a strong commitment to co-production, a clear focus on equalities and a collaborative approach to building relationships across a range of stakeholders.This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.All About YouYou will need knowledge and experience of commissioning and/or an understanding of adult social care, health and housing services (ideally in relation to mental health, learning disabilities and autism).We expect that candidates for this role will draw on their own rich and varied skills and experiences to approach it in their unique way, but we think this role will appeal especially to people who:

  • Have knowledge and experience of commissioning and/or the health and care system that supports our residents.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively with residents, families and carers, commissioned providers and other stakeholders in a complex, multiagency environment.
  • Can analyse and evaluate information, including needs analysis and contract monitoring data, and to draw conclusions about issues and how to address them.
  • Demonstrates adaptable and effective communication skills and experience of writing and presenting policy and strategy to inform others about relevant issues and recommend appropriate future action.
  • Has experience of successful project management including the flexibility and organisational skills to work on several projects at the same time.
  • Leads by example through a commitment to coproduction with our residents, collaboration with colleagues and wider partners, and a passion for addressing inequalities.
