Commercial ManagersRoughan & O’Donovan (ROD) is looking to recruit commercial managers to provide commercial input to multidisciplinary, civil engineering projects on a permanent basis.Job type: PermanentLocation: Sandyford, Dublin 18Salary: CompetitiveAbout the roleYou will join a talented team with a reputation for delivering complex design projects across Ireland and the UK. Working closely with existing and new clients, you will provide commercial input to multidisciplinary, civil engineering projects and help grow our business by supporting group directors and bid teams.The role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills to the highest industry standards whilst advancing your professional development under the guidance of experienced mentors.From road and rail schemes to award-winning cable-stayed bridges to small footbridges and culverts, our team output combines engineering excellence with graceful design. Our services cover the entire cycle of engineering services from option selection, preliminary and detailed design, statutory process, procurement, supervision of construction through to inspection, maintenance and rehabilitation.About Roughan & O’DonovanRoughan & O’Donovan (ROD) is expert in planning, designing and managing major infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients across Ireland and the UK. An independently owned firm, we employ a team of more than 200 people, of over 20 different nationalities, in our Dublin and UK offices.Current and recent projects include:ResponsibilitiesDevelopment, implementation, and management of efficient and effective commercial procedures in conjunction with the project directorsFinancial management of projects from early projects stages to completion, including but not limited to:budget and cost controlpreparing payment applications and cash flow reportingongoing cost planning, monitoring and reporting of the progress, budgets, costs, and revenue for the allocated projectspreparing actions, contract submissions, assessments, and projections for future workliaising with the Accounts department on invoicingmanaging risk in conjunction with the project directorssupporting the technical team in delivering projects with commercial inputschedulingcontract document preparation and administration of contracts and sub-contracts with clients and subcontractorsassisting in bid preparation aimed at winning new business with existing and new clientsinteracting with clients from local and national authorities, consultants, and D&B contractors amongst othersEssentialEducated to degree level (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications) or equivalent / relevant experience/qualification within a commercial roleThree to five years’ relevant post-qualification experienceExperience of assisting with the development and management of commercial processes and proceduresUnderstanding of engineering principlesKnowledge of contract mechanismsExcellent IT skills (MS Excel and MS Word)Excellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent organisational skillsExcellent numerical skillsExperience of working to tight deadlinesFlexible, motivated and focusedA strong work ethicFluent or highly proficient in spoken and written EnglishDesirableExperience of working independently on commercial aspects of projectsExperience of working in a multidisciplinary environmentGood business commercial acumenAccounting or QS backgroundExperience of the NEC suite of contracts, particularly PSC Options A and CExperience of Primavera P6 Scheduling SoftwareExperience of CEMAR Contract Administration PlatformGood leadership skillsWhat to expect when you join RODWhen you join ROD, you will become part of a team recognised for outstanding technical skill and passion for excellence.
