The ANZ MCAPS Finance team is a strategic partner to Microsoft’s diverse businesses, providing insights, analysis and guidance for financial and operational decisions. We:

As Commercial Director, you will have a unique opportunity to use your insights and strategic thinking to partner with leaders on financial decisions, investments, efficiency and process transformation projects.

You will closely partner across both Enterprise and Public Sector Account teams, Specialist Sellers, the Customer Success unit, the Global Partner team and Deal desk to drive financial outcomes in pursuit of our business objectives.

You will demonstrate leadership in providing insights on market opportunity and support strategic deal making and partnerships.

You will lead a team of finance professionals in support of business leaders and business strategy.

Responsibilities

The ANZ Commercial Director leads business analytics and research activities determining present and future financial performance, formulating and evaluating financial plans, economic transactions, and future opportunities.

Partnership:

  • They lead efforts to work with business partners to translate top-down targets to an accountable budget and to generate operational plans and strategy within their organization.

  • They provide direction and actionable insights on the state of the business to key stakeholders. They partner with senior business and commercial leaders to drive performance and strategy to achieve the best return on investment and shareholder return.

  • They apply advanced understanding of Microsoft business, industry, and drivers of shareholder return to ensure senior leaders are presented with the most relevant data, insights, risks, and recommendations necessary to support strategy execution.

Prioritisation:

  • They are able to conceptualize and design new approaches to how financial data is collected and evaluated to impact the broader organization and Microsoft’s long-term goals.

  • They work with Microsoft experts to identify and leverage advanced tools and technology.

  • They understand the interconnections between data, information, and results and translate this into forward-looking narratives and forecasts.

Protect:

  • They drive the right tone from executive leadership and ensure strict adherence and understanding of Microsoft policies.

People:

  • In addition, this role has people management responsibilities including driving employee growth and development, executing projects, and managing performance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 10+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

MBA/Masters Degree Preferred

This includes the ability to confidently address difficult questions, handle push back from a high-level audience, and maintain an executive demeanor while engaging in difficult or sometimes high-pressure situations.

Problem Solving: The ability to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Strategic Thinking: The ability to examine and understand the organization’s competitive strengths and weaknesses. This includes the ability to: look for opportunities to grow the business and reduce costs; monitor the environment for opportunities; formulate strategies that provide distinct competitive advantages; and consider problems and opportunities from a broad, multi-functional perspective.
