AWS Professional Services (ProServe) is a global team of consultants that helps enterprise customers achieve their business outcomes on AWS Cloud. ProServe consultants work with hundreds of the world’s largest enterprises to help them deliver their cloud initiatives.

About the Role:

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services team is looking for Cloud Architect to join our National Security and Defense team in Australia. As a Cloud Architect, you will work with our customers to deliver AWS solutions such as web applications, enterprise applications, High-Performance Compute (HPC), batch processing & big data, archiving & disaster recovery for a wide range of industries. You will also have the opportunity to help our partners develop technical expertise and capacity. Lastly, you will deliver proof-of-concept projects, topical workshops, and lead implementation projects.

This role combines thought leadership across the globe with cutting code, designing architectures, and helping our customers build system components as they move and build new applications in the cloud.

Clearance:

This position requires that the candidate selected will be an Australian Citizen that either holds or will be eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 (AGSVA) security clearance.

Key job responsibilities

  • Deliver technical solutions that solve for new levels of complexity, scale and performance, enabling breakthrough innovations for customers

  • Apply and create best practices in multiple technical domains using AWS and third-party technology products

  • Guide customers appropriately following our AWS Well-Architected Framework

  • Drive deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are successfully deployed in the cloud

  • Manage migrations of existing applications and development of new applications using AWS cloud services

  • Work with AWS field business development, marketing, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon Simple DB/RDS databases, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), etc.

  • Work closely with AWS engineering and support teams to convey partner and customer needs and feedback as input to technology roadmaps

  • Gather real world implementation challenges and recommend new capabilities that would simplify adoption and drive greater value from use of AWS cloud services

AWS Professional Services lead Government, education, non-profits, and healthcare organizations; and their IT providers through their cloud adoption journey and help them achieve their desired business outcomes through AWS leadership and technical expertise. Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the primary aws services (ec2, elb, rds, route53 & s3)

  • Experience implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of IT implementation experience

  • Experience and technical expertise (design and implementation) in cloud computing technologies

  • Experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale or recent hands-on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience
