Clinical Lead (Adult): NELFT Community Eating Disorders ServiceAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior practitioner with existing experience in the field of eating disorders to join the NELFT community Eating Disorders Service as Clinical Lead (Adult).Following a change of role for the previous post holder, we are seeking a new clinical lead for the adult part of our service. The successful candidate will play a lead role in shaping the ongoing development of the team, building on the growth of recent years whilst identifying and responding to new opportunities for the team. In line with the NELFT vision, they will be committed to developing a service that provides the best possible care for service users and their families, delivered by the best people, as well as to the maintenance of the mutually supportive and stimulating working environment which our staff have valued since the team’s creation.Main duties of the jobWithin the team, the successful candidate will work closely with the Service and Strategic lead, the Team Manager, the Consultant Adult Psychiatrist and the Clinical Lead (CYP). With colleagues, they will be accountable for the ongoing development and delivery of a comprehensive community Eating Disorder Service for adult patients and for the clinical standards to which the service operates. They will also play a central role in promoting the development of effective working relationships with key external stakeholders, including colleagues in primary care, from the North East London Adult Eating Disorder Provider Collaborative, the ICBs and other statutory and voluntary agencies.Key Responsibilities:1. To provide clinical leadership and quality control and to ensure adherence and competence to evidence based models in eating disorders.2. To set, implement and evaluate clear, achievable and measurable objectives for EDS with the service lead , service manager, consultant psychistrists and pathway leads3. To have organisational knowledge relating to Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them, particularly safeguarding.4. To ensure and have advanced knowledge of effective risk management at team level by accident/incident reporting, assessing and controlling risk and ensuring residual risks are added to the Trust register.About usProbationary PeriodThis post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. Comprising a full multidisciplinary team of therapists, specialist nurses, dietitians, psychiatrists, assistant psychologists and admin staff, we provide NICE compliant treatments to adults and young people with primary eating disorders, as well as specialist support to families and carers.We offer structured Intensive Community Treatment pathways for both adults and young people at risk of needing admission to Specialist Eating Disorder Units and access specialist inpatient and day patient care through our membership of local Provider Collaboratives, in which we play an active part. The post-holder will be a post-graduate qualified psychological practitioner (e.g. clinical/counselling psychologist, family therapist, child and adolescent psychotherapist) or graduate qualified health care professional (e.g. nurse, social worker, occupational therapist), fully registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g. HCPC, NMC).2. To be responsible, and accountable, for service delivery to clients, via NICE compliant pathways for eating disorders.3. To be able to assess and develop plans of care to meet the complex needs of clients with a variety of conditions.4. To provide clients and families with information and education thus ensuring they have meaningful choices that promote dignity, independence and quality of life.5. To ensure practice is supported by research, evidence based practice, literature and peer review.
