Position: Flexible Schedule Clinical Data Abstractor

Location: 100% Remote (Non-Benefit Position

Qualifications:

• ODS certification
• Minimum of 3 years of recent abstraction experience as an ODS-C in a hospital setting (or equivalent)
• Experience with ACS CoC accredited programs preferred
• Proficiency with multiple cancer registry software applications and EHR systems preferred
• Familiarity with reporting requirements for ACS CoC, NPCR and SEER
• Experience working in a remote setting
• QA/QC scores of >95% preferred (98% or greater would be better)
• Ability to be flexible, openness to learning new ways of doing things.

Carta Expectations:

• Maintain ODS certification and stay current with updates to cancer staging criteria, coding guidelines and reporting standards
• Strong/ professional communication
• Willingness to complete multiple cancer registry operational tasks in addition to abstraction
• Including casefinding, follow-up, IRR/QA, data submissions, edits, clean-up
• Abstraction Productivity
• Avg 1.5 hrs/case or less for manual abstraction
• Maintain average quality scores of 98% or >
• Openness to working with multiple technology platforms
• Willingness to test new applications, collaborate with engineering and work with developing technology
• Ability to work at least 15 – 20 hrs/wk
