Salary: £28,508.38 per annum

Hours: 40 per week, Monday to Friday 5am to 1pm

Location: Brunel Lock, Bristol

Cleaning Team Leader

Purpose of the role:

We are seeking a proactive Cleaning Team Leader to join Bristol Workplace. This position will work in various locations across Bristol whilst supervising and developing a team of Cleaning Operatives to ensure the highest cleaning standards are always provided.

To succeed in this role, it is essential you take pride in your work, have good attention to detail, good verbal communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

You will be working at various locations across Bristol (Schools, EPD, Council Building, and ad hoc work)

A DBS will be required for this position.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coaching and developing Cleaning Operatives with succession planning
  • Scheduling and assigning specific duties/roles to Cleaning Operatives and also ensuring that they are carried out expertly
  • Inspection of cleaning equipment on a weekly basis
  • Controlling and monitoring the usage of cleaning materials to avoid waste and misuse
  • Providing any form of required assistance to Cleaning Operatives while they carry out their duties
  • Promote an excellent Health and Safety culture
  • Manages holiday planning for the team
  • Motivates team members and assesses performance
  • Provides help to management, including hiring and training, and keeps management updated on team performance
  • Administration tasks as directed by your line manager
  • Ensure annual performance reviews are completed
  • Maintain efficient and accurate records for quality and cost control
  • Ensure that all team members are familiar with and adhere to the Company’s Health and Safety policy and procedures, COSHH, cleaning methods and site-specific procedures
  • Carry out Human Resource meetings when required
  • Administration duties as required
  • Managing stock and equipment budgets

Essential Requirements for the Role:

  • Experience in a supervisory role within the cleaning industry or demonstrable leadership experience of managing a team
  • Strong people skills
  • Attention to detail and high standards of work
  • Good relationship building skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety regulations
  • IT literacy
  • Ability to manage a small team
  • Full Driving Licence valid for use in the United Kingdom
